From the President
Greetings, and welcome to the 111th Annual Session of the Progressive Missionary & Educational Baptist State Convention of Florida, Inc. How blessed we are to have been granted this golden opportunity to once again convene in the “The City Beautiful” Orlando, Florida! I am grateful to the almighty God who continuous to sustain our great convention each year throughout our history as a convention! He is faithful and shows Progressive undeserved favor as we continue to do Kingdom Work!
Allow me to give special appreciation to Moderator, Dr. Rayford Harper and the First South District Association for accepting to be our host association, and to Reverend Dr. J. Roy Morrison and the Mount Pleasant M. B. Church family for accepting the task of being our host Pastor and church. Your diligent planning to ensure our successful session this week will allow us to have a safe and enjoyable week in Orlando.
As we gather this week we are facing a new era with new challenges in our government, however, I am assured that we will be victories in whatever battles we encounter because we are children of God and He in His sovereign power is yet in control of this world. I encourage you to keep your focus on the “God of our weary years, the God of our silent tears, the one who has brought us thus far on our way!” He will do what he has promised and has done all these years, take care of us, “His People!”
As we have come together this week, let us celebrate the goodness of God as we worship and praise him, and as we hear the preached word, and the teaching that will surely be spiritually encouraging to each of us.
Welcome to all our visiting brothers and sisters who have chosen to share this session with us. I pray that your visit will be rewarding and that you were recipients of the gracious Progressive hospitality throughout the time you spent with us.
I pray each of you will have a safe trip back to your various cities and homes, and that you will find all things well when you arrive!
Reverend Dr. Bartholomew Banks, President
